Turbat: IG FC Chairs Kech Coordination Meeting; Balochistan Development Initiative Phase 3 Approved
In a major push toward peace, regional stability, and public service, the Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan and the civil administration have reinforced their strategic partnership. A high-level meeting of the District Coordination Committee Kech was held in Turbat, chaired by the Inspector General of FC Balochistan (South).
The apex meeting was attended by Member of the Balochistan Provincial Assembly (MPA) Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch, the Deputy Commissioner, the District Police Officer (DPO), and other senior civil and military officials.
Review of Law & Order and Anti-Narcotics Crackdown
The committee conducted a comprehensive review of the overall law and order situation in Turbat and the wider Kech district. Countering the drug menace emerged as a top priority, with directives issued for a rigorous crackdown on narcotics. Additionally, the forum evaluated the registration of religious seminaries (Madaris) and assessed the performance of public dispute-resolution mechanisms, including open courts (Khuli Kacheris) and local Jirgas.
Approval of Balochistan Special Development Initiative Phase 3
Responding to persistent public demands, the committee officially approved the launch of development projects under the Balochistan Special Development Initiative (BSDI) Phase 3. Expressing satisfaction over the pace of ongoing infrastructure and socio-economic projects in the region, IG FC Balochistan (South) emphasized the need for timely execution.
Green Pakistan Initiative and Safe City Project
The IG FC underscored the importance of providing sustainable alternative livelihoods to the local youth through the Green Pakistan Initiative. He further stressed the immediate acceleration of the Turbat Safe City Project to enhance urban surveillance and security infrastructure, calling for seamless institutional cooperation between law enforcement and civil bodies.
