Terrorist Attack on Quetta’s Patel Road Leaves One Civilian Martyred

Quetta — Terrorists belonging to the banned Balochistan Liberation Army, described as Fitna al-Hindustan, carried out a cowardly attack targeting unarmed civilians on the busy Patel Road in the provincial capital, Quetta. As a result, one civilian was martyred, while four others, including a child, sustained serious injuries.

Details of the Incident and Victims’ Statements

According to preliminary police reports, the terrorists targeted an area frequently used by civilians near a hospital on Patel Road. Security forces and rescue teams reached the scene immediately after receiving information about the blast. The area was cordoned off, and the injured were rushed to hospital.

Casualty:

One civilian embraced martyrdom at the scene of the attack.

Injured:

Four people, including a child, were seriously injured in the blast and are currently receiving medical treatment.

Abrar Ahmed, a child injured in the explosion, described the incident in the following words:

“I had come to a hospital on Patel Road in Quetta for medical treatment. As I was leaving the hospital with my family, a sudden explosion occurred, leaving me seriously injured.”

Another injured civilian, Zubair Khan, said:

“I had finished work at a workshop and was heading home with my friends when I was caught in the blast. I lost consciousness after the explosion, and when I regained consciousness, I found myself in hospital.”

Security Experts’ Assessment and Forces’ Response

According to defence and security experts, the banned BLA has become increasingly desperate following recent effective operations by security forces in which a large number of terrorists were killed.

Attacks on Civilian Areas:

Experts said that after suffering significant losses in counterterrorism operations, terrorists are increasingly targeting civilian populations and soft targets in an attempt to spread fear and panic.

Legal and Security Action:

Security forces have collected evidence from the scene and launched an investigation. A search operation is also underway in the area to arrest those responsible for the attack.
