Peshawar (Balochistan News)A suicide attack carried out by terrorists on a Pakistan Army post in Azam Warsak near Wana in South Waziristan was foiled due to timely action by security forces.
According to reports, the attacker attempted to target the checkpoint using a vehicle laden with explosives; however, alert Pakistan Army troops immediately responded and destroyed the vehicle before it could reach its target.
Officials said the suicide bomber was killed on the spot in the blast, preventing major casualties. However, 7 civilians were injured in the incident and were shifted to DHQ Hospital Wana for treatment.
According to DHQ Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. Jan Muhammad, the injured civilians are being provided immediate medical care.
Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to eliminate any further threats.
