South Waziristan: Residents Announce Support for Creation of New Provinces
Wana: Residents of South Waziristan, a tribal district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, have openly supported the creation of new provinces in the country to promote sustainable development and ensure the prompt resolution of public issues. Local residents say that the establishment of new administrative units would provide remote areas with more effective representation, timely access to resources and equal opportunities for development.
Local elders and citizens of South Waziristan said that the considerable distance from Peshawar under the existing provincial setup creates serious administrative difficulties for the people. According to residents, dividing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa into new provinces has become necessary to ensure direct access to the Chief Minister and facilitate the prompt resolution of complex public issues.
Citizens emphasized that the creation of a separate province is an important need for good governance, equitable distribution of resources and a more effective role for government institutions. They said that only by overcoming the barrier of long distances from the provincial capital can the government machinery be brought closer to ordinary citizens.
According to analysts, the creation of new provinces and administrative units in the region could serve as an important milestone toward addressing public grievances, devolving powers to the grassroots level and promoting balanced regional development.
