SIFC Facilitates Major Pakistan-China Sports Footwear Manufacturing Agreement
Islamabad: With the effective facilitation of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), Pakistan and China have reached a strategic agreement to expand cooperation in sports footwear manufacturing. The agreement has been formally signed between Pakistan’s leading manufacturer Forward Sports and China’s Zhong Zi Huaxin Group.
Manufacturing Capacity and Chinese Investment Partnership
Under the agreement, Pakistan’s industrial manufacturing capabilities will be integrated with advanced Chinese technology and investment.
Technology Transfer: Modern Chinese technology will be introduced to support the local production of advanced sports footwear.
Increased Production Capacity: Local industrial units will be upgraded and expanded to improve production capacity and ensure internationally competitive quality standards.
New Employment Opportunities: The partnership is expected to create thousands of employment opportunities for skilled and semi-skilled workers in Pakistan’s industrial sector.
Export Diversification and Access to Global Markets
A key objective of the joint venture is to diversify Pakistan’s traditional exports and increase the country’s share in the global sports footwear market.
Global Market Access: Through the Chinese group’s international business network, Pakistani-made sports footwear products will gain greater access to international markets.
Foreign Exchange Earnings: Increased exports of value-added footwear are expected to generate valuable foreign exchange and contribute to reducing Pakistan’s trade deficit.
SIFC’s Investor-Friendly Economic Strategy
According to SIFC officials, the agreement represents another step toward industrial expansion, attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) and supporting Pakistan’s broader economic recovery agenda. The council says it remains committed to removing administrative and legal barriers and facilitating joint ventures between Pakistani businesses and international investors.
