Islamabad: The long-standing double taxation dispute between leading construction company Allied Materials and the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has been amicably resolved as a result of effective coordination and timely facilitation by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).

Allied Materials is a prominent provider of ready-mix concrete and related services to Pakistan’s construction sector. The double taxation issue involving federal and provincial tax authorities had reached the Sindh High Court in 2024. To address legal complexities and remove business-related hurdles, SIFC took prompt action and facilitated joint negotiation meetings between Allied Materials, the Sindh Revenue Board, and senior officials of the FBR. These meetings resulted in the parties reaching a mutually agreed solution.

Allied Materials Director Syed Faisal Ali appreciated SIFC’s role in the peaceful resolution of the dispute, stating that the Council’s cooperation as a facilitator had been highly positive and encouraging. He noted that SIFC is playing a key role in removing obstacles between private businesses and government departments and in maintaining investor confidence.
