Severe Water Shortage in Naseerabad: Balochistan and Sindh Chief Ministers Agree on Joint Measures

Mir Sarfraz Bugti and Syed Murad Ali Shah Hold Telephonic Discussion, Direct Irrigation Ministers to Reach Sukkur Immediately

Quetta — Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti and Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah held an important telephonic conversation in which they discussed in detail the severe shortage of water in the canals of Naseerabad Division and the broader inter-provincial water situation.

Both leaders fully agreed to resolve the longstanding water issues between Sindh and Balochistan through mutual cooperation and to take joint measures for immediate improvement in the situation.

This development came after Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s parliamentary leader in the Balochistan Assembly, Mir Saleem Khan Khosa, met the Chief Minister of Balochistan and briefed him in detail about the critical water situation in the canals of Naseerabad Division.

Emergency Meeting in Sukkur: All Lawmakers from Naseerabad to Participate

Considering the sensitivity of the situation, Mir Sarfraz Bugti and Syed Murad Ali Shah directed the irrigation ministers of both provinces to immediately reach Sukkur to ensure the fair and equitable distribution of water.

Key Points and Future Strategy

Emergency Mission of Irrigation Ministers: The irrigation ministers of Balochistan and Sindh will immediately reach Sukkur and review the administrative arrangements and water situation on the ground.

Participation of Lawmakers: All members of the Provincial Assembly belonging to Naseerabad Division will also specially participate in this important meeting in Sukkur.

Sustainable Resolution of Issues: Both provinces reiterated their commitment to maintaining high-level coordination to prevent future water disputes.
