New York: World-renowned tennis star Serena Williams has announced her return to competitive tennis after four years, bringing excitement to sports fans around the world.

The 44-year-old Serena Williams, who has won 23 Grand Slam titles, played her last professional match at the US Open on September 3, 2022, where she was eliminated in the third round.

At the conclusion of that match, she left the court in an emotional farewell marked by tears. However, she did not formally announce her retirement at that time.

Now, Serena Williams is set to return to action in the women’s doubles event at a tournament in England ahead of the Wimbledon Championships, the third Grand Slam event of the year.
