In a significant counter-terrorism operation, security forces successfully engaged and neutralized seven terrorists belonging to the 'Fitna Al Hindustan' group in the Nosham area of Barkhan District on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.
According to the military’s media wing, troops from the Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps Balochistan launched an area sanitization operation targeting foreign-backed militants. Following the identification of the terrorists, a heavy exchange of fire ensued.
Casualties and Recoveries
During the intense engagement, seven terrorists were killed. Security forces successfully recovered a cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives from the site.
In the line of duty, five brave soldiers embraced Shahadat (martyrdom) while confronting the militants. The fallen heroes, identified as the "sons of the soil," include:
Major Tauseef Ahmed Bhatti (31): Resident of District Pakpattan.
Naik Fida Hussain (36): Resident of District Sukkur.
Sepoy Zakir Hussain (32): Resident of District Skardu.
Sepoy Suhail Ahmed (21): Resident of District Khanewal.
Sepoy Muhammad Ayaz (24): Resident of District Rahim Yar Khan.
Ongoing Security Efforts
Security forces are currently conducting a follow-up sanitization operation in the surrounding areas to ensure the complete elimination of any remaining hostile elements linked to foreign-sponsored terrorism.
Military officials have reaffirmed their commitment to the national counter-terrorism vision, “Azm-e-Istehkam.” Approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, this campaign remains at full pace, aiming to eradicate the menace of foreign-supported terrorism and ensure national stability across the country.
