Security Forces Conduct Operations in Chagai and Pishin: 21 Terrorists Killed, Six Personnel Martyred

Rawalpindi — Security forces conducted effective counterterrorism operations in Balochistan’s Chagai and Pishin districts, killing 21 terrorists allegedly backed by external elements.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), six brave personnel, including two officers and a Customs official, embraced martyrdom during intense exchanges of fire.

Attempted Extortion on N-40 Highway Foiled

On August 31, terrorists established an illegal checkpoint in the Nok Chah area of Chagai along the Quetta-Taftan National Highway (N-40), attempting to harass passengers and collect extortion money.

Security forces responded swiftly and effectively, killing 11 terrorists on the spot. A large quantity of weapons, ammunition and explosives was also recovered from their possession.

Attack on Customs House in Pishin Repulsed

During the night of August 31 and September 1, terrorists launched a coordinated attack on the Customs House at Ziarat Cross in Pishin district. Security forces successfully repelled the assault.

Terrorist casualties: Ten terrorists were killed during the exchange of fire, while other fleeing accomplices were also targeted during the subsequent pursuit.

Terror-crime nexus: According to ISPR, the attack was an attempt to prevent Customs officials from performing their lawful duties and to protect a smuggling network.

Cleanup Operations Continue Under ‘Azm-e-Istehkam’

Search and sanitization operations are ongoing in the area to eliminate possible facilitators and remaining terrorist elements.

Under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam” endorsed by the National Action Plan’s Apex Committee, operations will continue without interruption until externally supported terrorism is completely eliminated.
