SECP Reforms Help Companies Raise Rs 20 Billion
Islamabad: Pakistan's capital market has witnessed remarkable growth following reform measures introduced by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP). During the first half of 2026, nine companies from sectors including manufacturing, petroleum, dairy, and technology collectively raised more than Rs20 billion through Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), marking a significant milestone for the country's capital market.
Recent SECP reforms have simplified and increased the transparency of the listing and fundraising process, strengthening confidence among businesses and investors.
The capital raised through public listings is being invested in new manufacturing facilities, agricultural development, and the expansion of logistics infrastructure across Pakistan.
Among the major IPOs:
- Service Long March Tyres, a joint venture between Pakistani and Chinese companies, raised Rs7.8 billion to establish a modern tyre manufacturing plant.
- Sitara Petroleum secured Rs4.83 billion to expand oil storage facilities, fuel stations, and its logistics network.
- Ghani Dairies raised Rs3.4 billion, becoming Pakistan's first listed dairy company to invest in livestock development, modern agriculture, and renewable energy projects.
- Pakistan-Qatar Takaful received overwhelming investor interest, with subscriptions reaching 21 times the offered amount and participation from more than 13,000 investors.
- Wahdat Poultry raised nearly Rs1 billion to modernize poultry farms and increase processed egg production.
