Rakhni to Be Developed into a Modern Model Divisional City; Major Development Projects Approved

QUETTA: The Government of Balochistan has approved a comprehensive development plan to transform Rakhni into a modern, secure, and well-developed model divisional city. The initiative aims to improve urban infrastructure, boost economic activity, and enhance the quality of life for local residents.

The decision was made during a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan. During the session, Commissioner Koh-e-Suleman Division Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Qambrani presented a detailed briefing on Rakhni’s integrated master plan.

Key Development Projects Approved

The meeting approved several major projects as part of Rakhni’s urban transformation strategy, including:

  • Safe City Project
  • Divisional Secretariat Complex
  • Livestock Economic Zone
  • Sports and recreational facilities
  • Modern highways and road networks
  • Sewerage and sanitation systems
  • Small dams and water resource projects
  • Agricultural development schemes

Employment and Economic Growth

Officials informed the meeting that the completion of these projects will help transform Rakhni into a modern, secure, and economically vibrant city.

The development package is expected to create thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities while significantly increasing investment, business activity, and public services in the region.

Chief Secretary Directs Swift Implementation

Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan instructed all relevant departments to ensure the timely and effective implementation of the approved projects.

He emphasized that the benefits of development initiatives should reach the public as quickly as possible, enabling residents to gain access to improved facilities and greater economic opportunities.

The Government of Balochistan’s initiative is being viewed as an important step toward balanced regional development, improved governance, and the integration of underdeveloped areas into the broader national development framework.
