Quetta’s First Digital Steel Mill Becomes Operational, Production Begins
Industrial Progress in Balochistan: State-of-the-Art Steel Mill Becomes Operational in Quetta
A significant development has taken place in Balochistan’s industrial sector, as the provincial capital, Quetta, has welcomed the launch of its first modern digital steel mill.
Located in Quetta’s Eastern Bypass Industrial Zone, where around 300 factories producing a variety of goods are already operating, the steel mill has been built around a fully automated system. The modern plant has the capacity to produce 500 tonnes of steel reinforcement bars (rebar) per day, manufacturing high-quality Grade 60 rebar in accordance with international standards.
Steel mill Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Aminullah said that, given the ongoing and upcoming construction activities in Balochistan, establishing such a modern industrial unit locally would prove highly beneficial for the economy and the construction sector.
The commissioning of the modern steel mill has also created new and expanded employment opportunities for unemployed young people across the province, particularly in Quetta, with positive effects expected on the local economy.
