Quetta Sit-In: Zia Langau Assures Protesters Their Demands Will Be Addressed

Balochistan home minister reaches Coal Phatak at midnight for talks with families protesting the Ziarat tragedy

Quetta: A significant development emerged at the ongoing protest sit-in at Quetta’s Coal Phatak against the Ziarat tragedy when Balochistan Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langau personally arrived at midnight to hold negotiations with the demonstrators.

He was accompanied by Quetta Deputy Commissioner Mehrullah Badini and the home minister’s aide, Babar Yousafzai.

Speaking to the sit-in participants, the provincial home minister assured them that the government was seriously considering the demands of the affected families and that justice would be provided to the families of all the martyrs.

Entire Society Grieved Over Ziarat Tragedy: Mir Ziaullah Langau

Expressing condolences to the participants, the home minister said the incident was deeply tragic and that the entire society was overwhelmed with grief and anger over the brutal act.

He stated in clear terms:

Martyrs of the state: “These martyrs do not belong to one family alone; they are the martyrs of the government and the entire state.”

No substitute for human life: “There can be no compensation equal to a human life, but the government fully shares the grief of the bereaved families.”

Chief minister’s instructions: “The Chief Minister of Balochistan specifically directed me at midnight to immediately meet the bereaved families and other participants and address their concerns.”

Progress in Negotiations and Protesters’ Demands

This round of talks between the administration and the sit-in committee took place at a critical stage.

The provincial government assured the participants that every possible measure would be taken to maintain law and order and provide relief and justice to the affected families.
