Lahore (Sports Desk)The Team of the Tournament for Pakistan Super League Season 11 has been announced in Lahore, with Peshawar Zalmi’s captain Babar Azam appointed as the team’s captain based on his outstanding performance.
The Team of the Tournament includes three players each from Peshawar Zalmi and Hyderabad Kings Men, while two players each from Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United have also been selected. Additionally, one player each from Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators has been included.
The team was selected by a five-member jury comprising a renowned commentary panel, while a separate emerging team featuring young players has also been formed.
During the season, Babar Azam scored 588 runs as an opener, winning the Hanif Mohammad Cap and finishing as the tournament’s top scorer. He also equaled Fakhar Zaman’s record for most runs in a single season and scored two centuries.
Peshawar Zalmi’s Kusal Mendis and Sufiyan Muqeem have also been included in the team. Mendis scored 550 runs and effected 8 dismissals as a wicketkeeper, while Sufiyan Muqeem took 22 wickets and won both the Player of the Tournament and Best Bowler awards.
From Hyderabad Kings Men, Usman Khan, Hasan Khan, and Hunain Shah have been selected, while Lahore Qalandars’ Shaheen Shah Afridi also secured a place in the team.
Furthermore, Multan Sultans’ Shan Masood and Islamabad United’s captain Shadab Khan have been included based on their all-round performances, while Richard Gleeson is also part of the squad.
