Pre-Monsoon Rains and Thunderstorms Leave 12 Injured in Balochistan

DERA MURAD JAMALI: At least 12 people, including four women and two children, were injured after heavy pre-monsoon rains accompanied by thunderstorms and hailstorms struck several parts of Balochistan on Wednesday, causing widespread damage in and around Dera Murad Jamali.

According to reports, the injured were shifted to government and private hospitals for medical treatment.

The rainfall brought relief from the ongoing heatwave in several districts, including Dera Bugti, Sui, Bolan, and Jhal Magsi, where temperatures dropped significantly following the storm.

However, the severe weather also caused extensive destruction in Dera Murad Jamali, Manjhoti, Mir Hassan, Tambo, Balan, Shakh Sikandarabad, Notal, and surrounding areas.

Several mud houses collapsed after roofs and walls caved in due to heavy rain and strong winds. Stormy winds also uprooted trees, damaged signboards, and knocked down electricity poles, raising concerns about prolonged power outages in affected areas.

Officials from the local administration and police visited the affected regions to assess losses caused by the rain, hailstorm, and thunderstorms.

Authorities have urged residents to remain cautious as unstable weather conditions may continue in different parts of the province.
