Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif chaired a review meeting on the Prime Minister’s Youth Program, reiterating the government's commitment to empowering the youth through education, skill development, and employment opportunities.


Strategic Directives

Aligning IT Education: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the Ministry of IT have been tasked with developing a roadmap to align university curricula with global IT standards.


Streamlining Financial Support: The PM ordered the consolidation of various soft-loan schemes under a single umbrella to facilitate young entrepreneurs.


Sustainable Mobility: Collaboration with the Ministry of Industries to provide electric bikes to youth from low-and middle-income backgrounds.


Progress Report

The meeting was briefed on the program's significant milestones:


Digital Outreach: The 'Digital Youth Hub' has registered over 800,000 youth and 2,000 institutions, processing thousands of requests daily.


Economic Impact: Under the 'Youth Business and Agri Loans' scheme, PKR 122.5 billion has been distributed to 287,000 beneficiaries, resulting in the creation of over 900,000 jobs.


Sports Development: Through the 'Sports and Talent Hunt' program, 400,000 youth participated, leading to the identification of new talent for national-level platforms like the PSL.
