Petrol Price Slashed by Rs74 Per Litre, Diesel Reduced by Rs67 Per Litre
Following a significant decline in global oil prices, the government has announced a major reduction in petroleum product prices across the country.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs74 per litre. As a result, the petrol price has dropped from Rs373 to Rs299 per litre.
He further stated that the price of diesel has been cut by Rs67 per litre, bringing it down from Rs378 to Rs311 per litre.
The Prime Minister appreciated the patience and resilience shown by the public during challenging economic conditions and thanked citizens for supporting the government during difficult times.
He added that the government made every possible effort to reduce fuel prices through its available resources. According to him, the federal government saved Rs129 billion through development budget adjustments and austerity measures, enabling it to provide maximum possible relief to the public.
The substantial reduction in petroleum prices is expected to lower transportation costs and ease inflationary pressures, providing broader economic relief to consumers and businesses.
