Pakistan to Establish First Modern Bulletproof Glass Factory in Karachi, Advancing Defence Self-Reliance
Karachi: With the effective facilitation of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), Pakistan has taken another major step toward greater self-reliance in the defence sector. Vanguard International has officially announced plans to establish the country’s first modern, world-class bulletproof glass manufacturing facility in Karachi following a high-level meeting with SIFC officials.
The strategic project will involve an investment of approximately US$50 million at the Bin Qasim Industrial Park. Its primary objective is to meet Pakistan’s defence requirements through local production and reduce dependence on imported products.
Technology Transfer and New Employment Opportunities
The state-of-the-art manufacturing facility is expected to bring advanced technology to Pakistan while reducing the import bill and saving valuable foreign exchange. The project is also expected to create at least 400 direct employment opportunities for skilled and technical workers, supporting local economic activity.
The Vanguard International delegation appreciated SIFC’s role in providing an investor-friendly environment, one-window facilitation and accelerated support for investment projects in Pakistan.
