Japan: Pakistan has qualified for the semi-finals of the Under-18 Hockey Asia Cup after delivering an impressive performance in the tournament. In a crucial group-stage match, the national team defeated Bangladesh 5-2 to maintain its winning momentum.
In the match played in Kakamigahara, Pakistani players adopted an aggressive approach from the very beginning. Abdullah scored two goals for Pakistan, while Adeel, Assam, and Muhammad Yahya added one goal each to secure the victory.
For Bangladesh, Tarek Islam and Monna Islam scored one goal each. Pakistan’s Muhammad Yahya was named Player of the Match for his outstanding performance.
During the game, Pakistan’s forwards made full use of the scoring opportunities available to them, while the midfield and defensive units also delivered strong performances to maintain control of the contest.
With this victory, Pakistan not only secured a place in the semi-finals but also strengthened its status as a strong contender for the championship title. The national team will face its traditional rival India in the semi-final on June 5.
President of the Pakistan Hockey Federation, Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, congratulated the team and management, saying that the achievement was the result of the players’, coaches’, and support staff’s hard work and dedication.
He expressed hope that the junior national team would continue its impressive form in the semi-final, reach the final, and further strengthen the bright future of Pakistani hockey.
