Pakistan is the Natural Trade Gateway for Central Asia, says Jam Kamal Khan

Federal Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan, held a pivotal meeting with the Ambassador of Turkmenistan, Atadjan Movlamov. The discussions centered on strengthening bilateral trade, energy cooperation, and regional connectivity between the two nations.

Leveraging Strategic Ports for Regional Integration

During the meeting, Jam Kamal Khan emphasized that Pakistan’s strategic geographical location and its deep-sea ports offer the most efficient route for Central Asian countries to access global markets. He highlighted the necessity of streamlining trade routes and enhancing logistical frameworks to facilitate smoother transit trade.

Private Sector Collaboration and Business Forums

Both sides agreed to bolster business-to-business (B2B) ties by encouraging cooperation between their respective Chambers of Commerce. The plan includes organizing trade fairs and business forums to provide a platform for private sector investors. Ambassador Movlamov commended Pakistan’s constructive role in regional stability and expressed keen interest in advancing joint energy and infrastructure projects.

Strengthening Diplomatic & Economic Ties

The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to maintain high-level diplomatic engagement, ensuring that the economic partnership between Pakistan and Turkmenistan continues to grow through sustainable trade and logistics cooperation.
