Pakistan-China Strategic Partnership Driving Regional Growth and Youth Opportunities: Governor Balochistan
*QUETTA:* Governor Balochistan Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has said that the long-standing partnership between Pakistan and China has emerged as a major force for regional development, stability, and youth empowerment, adding that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) reflects the strength of this strategic cooperation.
In his message marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China, the governor stated that both countries had consistently supported each other during difficult times and continued to work together for regional peace and economic progress.
He described Pakistan-China ties as an “all-weather strategic cooperative relationship” based on mutual trust, continuous support, shared goals, and close strategic coordination.
Extending congratulations to Chinese President Xi Jinping and the people of China on the Diamond Jubilee celebrations, Governor Mandokhail said the Gwadar mega project was the “crown jewel” of CPEC.
He said the completion of the project would significantly transform Pakistan’s economic landscape, particularly in Balochistan, by turning the province into a major centre of trade and commercial activity.
The governor added that Balochistan’s strategic geographical location enables it to connect Central Asia, South Asia, and the Middle East, strengthening its importance as a regional trade corridor.
Mandokhail said CPEC would help transform Balochistan into a dynamic hub of economic activity, innovation, trade, and employment generation, emphasizing that the initiative represents a long-term shared commitment between Pakistan and China.
Highlighting the importance of people-to-people ties, he said stronger public engagement between the citizens of both countries was essential for further deepening bilateral relations.
The governor also revealed that he is currently leading a 16-member delegation on a visit to China, comprising representatives from various political parties.
He said important announcements regarding the development of public sector universities in Balochistan and scholarship opportunities for students would be made soon.
Reaffirming his commitment to youth empowerment, Mandokhail said efforts were underway to improve access to modern education in science and philosophy while strengthening higher education institutions across Balochistan.
