Pakistan-China Investment Forum in Guangzhou: Five MoUs Signed to Strengthen Cooperation
Guangzhou — Significant progress has been made in promoting bilateral trade, joint investment and industrial partnerships between Pakistan and China. During the 5th Pakistan Investment and Business Environment Exchange Forum 2026, held in China’s industrial hub of Guangzhou, five important Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were formally signed in key investment sectors.
The high-level forum was organized to mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China, with the objective of giving a new impetus to joint industrial and business cooperation under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Five Key Commercial Agreements Signed in Priority Sectors
Following B2B sessions and negotiations at the forum, MoUs were finalized in several priority industries:
Advanced technology and energy: Establishment of electric vehicle (EV) and battery manufacturing units.
Industrial and commercial production: Joint ventures in high-quality construction materials and modern furniture manufacturing.
Agricultural exports: Expansion of pine nut and value-added food processing exports.
Services sector: Promotion of medical services, business tourism and e-commerce networking.
New Phase of CPEC and Industrial Partnership
Alongside policy discussions, the conference facilitated direct engagement between the business communities of Pakistan and China.
Experts noted that the primary objectives of CPEC Phase II include establishing industrial clusters in Pakistan, relocating Chinese companies’ production units to the country and rapidly expanding export-oriented production capacity.
