Guangzhou (News Desk) — Significant progress has been made in promoting trade relations, industrial cooperation and foreign direct investment between Pakistan and China. During the 5th Pakistan Investment and Business Environment Exchange Forum 2026, held in China’s industrial hub of Guangzhou, five strategic Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed between businesses from the two countries in key sectors including electric vehicles, clean energy and tourism.

The forum brought together policymakers, trade delegations and leading representatives of the private sector from both countries for policy-level discussions, roadshows and extensive business-to-business (B2B) sessions. Pakistan’s manufacturing capabilities and agricultural exports were showcased, while Chinese investors were briefed on lucrative investment opportunities.

Electric Vehicles and Battery Technology: Installation of modern EV manufacturing plants and battery production units in Pakistan to promote environmentally friendly transportation.
Construction Materials and Modern Furniture: Joint production of raw materials and modern furnishing products to meet the growing demand in the housing sector.
Agricultural and Food Processing Exports: Value addition of pine nuts and their duty-free or preferential access to China’s vast consumer market.
Medical and Business Tourism: Establishment of specialized medical and corporate travel frameworks alongside professional exchanges.
75 Years of Diplomatic Relations and CPEC Industrial Phase Roadmap
The forum was held in the historic context of the completion of 75 years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China. Participants reaffirmed their commitment to providing attractive incentives to Chinese businesses under Phase II of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), particularly in industrial zones, energy projects and e-commerce networks. The initiative is expected to further contribute to regional economic stability.
