Pakistan and China Agree to Expand Cooperation in Livestock and Halal Meat Exports
Islamabad — Pakistan’s livestock sector is entering a new phase of development through modern reforms, advanced technology, and international partnerships. A high-level meeting with a Chinese delegation was held under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain, during which both countries agreed to take joint measures to expand livestock development and significantly increase meat exports.
The strategic cooperation aims to modernise Pakistan’s livestock sector and improve its access to international markets.
Modern Slaughterhouses, Cold Chain and Traceability Systems
Under joint Pakistan-China initiatives, livestock and meat-processing infrastructure across the country will be upgraded.
Infrastructure Development: International-standard slaughterhouses, meat-processing facilities, and export infrastructure will be established in Pakistan.
Quality Assurance: Modern technology, cold-chain management, and livestock traceability systems will be strengthened to ensure the export of high-quality halal meat to China.
Technology Transfer: Chinese companies will transfer advanced technology to Pakistan for meat processing, packaging, and preservation.
Livestock Supports the Economy and Rural Employment, Says Federal Minister
Addressing the meeting, Rana Tanveer Hussain said Pakistan possesses vast livestock resources and strong potential to produce premium halal meat for markets around the world.
