Not Naming Terrorists Is a Sign of Fear: Mir Ziaullah Langau
Interior Minister Accuses Opposition Leader Mahmood Khan Achakzai of Concealing Facts and Blaming the Government
Quetta: Balochistan Interior and Tribal Affairs Minister Mir Ziaullah Langau has strongly reacted to recent remarks by National Assembly Opposition Leader and Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party chief Mahmood Khan Achakzai, accusing him of avoiding the identification of terrorist organizations and misleading the public by shifting the blame entirely onto the government.
The minister said that a banned organization has already claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack in Saranan, yet some political leaders continue to avoid acknowledging the facts.
“Fear for His Life and Double Standards”
Mir Ziaullah Langau alleged that Mahmood Khan Achakzai refrains from openly identifying terrorist and militant organizations because of concerns for his personal safety.
He argued that placing the entire responsibility for terrorism on the government while ignoring the perpetrators amounts to political double standards and risks misleading the public.
Leadership and the Truth About Security Threats
The Balochistan interior minister said genuine leadership requires standing with the people during difficult circumstances, presenting facts honestly and guiding society in the right direction.
He further argued that keeping the Pashtun population unaware of actual security threats and ground realities does not serve their interests.
Key Points
- Double standards on terrorism: The minister criticized the reluctance to name the banned organization despite its reported claim of responsibility for the Saranan attack.
- Ignoring facts: He described placing the entire blame for terrorism on the government as irresponsible.
- Protection of Pashtun communities: The minister maintained that providing people with accurate information about security threats is essential to protecting their interests.
