North Waziristan: Major Infiltration Attempt Foiled Along Pak-Afghan Border, 15 Kharijis Killed

Rawalpindi (News Desk) — According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces have foiled an organized infiltration attempt by foreign-backed terrorists along the Pak-Afghan border opposite North Waziristan, killing 15 Kharijis. The prolonged and coordinated operation was carried out on the basis of intelligence during enhanced border security measures.

36-Hour Operation and Recovery of Heavy Weapons

According to an ISPR statement, suspicious movement of an organized group of Kharijis in a sensitive border sector was detected during the night between August 31 and September 1, 2026. Demonstrating patience, restraint and a high level of professional combat capability, security forces encircled the group and launched an operation that continued for 36 hours.

Key Features of the Operation

Effective Encirclement and Engagement: The advancing Khariji group was engaged with effective fire, resulting in the killing of 15 terrorists.

Seizure of Weapons and Ammunition: A large quantity of modern automatic weapons, explosives and communication equipment was recovered from the killed terrorists.

Area Clearance: A large-scale search and clearance operation is underway to eliminate any remaining facilitators and potential threats in the area.

Failure of Afghan Interim Government and Resolve Under Operation Azm-e-Istehkam

The military spokesperson stated that the Afghan interim Taliban government has consistently failed to prevent terrorist groups from using its territory against Pakistan and to fulfill its international border-related responsibilities.

ISPR reiterated that the defence of the country’s borders will be ensured at all costs, while operations under the national campaign Azm-e-Istehkam will continue without interruption until foreign-backed terrorism is eliminated.
