Target of a $100 Billion Maritime Economy by 2047
Junaid Anwar Chaudhry emphasized that Pakistan is being developed as a permanent and sustainable regional maritime hub, rather than serving as a temporary alternative during times of crisis.
He stressed that the government’s priority is not merely to increase the maritime sector’s contribution to GDP, but to transform it into a major engine of foreign-exchange earnings, industrial development and employment generation.
Under this long-term vision, the government has set a strategic target of expanding Pakistan’s maritime economy to $100 billion by 2047.
