Neelum Valley: Keran to Upper Neelum Road Named After Ghari Sector Martyr Sepoy Muhammad Arshad Khan
Islamabad (Web Desk) — At the request of local residents, the important Keran to Upper Neelum Road in Neelum Valley has been named after Sepoy Muhammad Arshad Khan, who embraced martyrdom in the Ghari Sector of Siachen.
A dignified ceremony was held to mark the occasion, attended by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) Murree as a special guest. Family members of the martyr, senior civil and military officials, and a large number of local residents participated in the ceremony and paid glowing tribute to Sepoy Muhammad Arshad Khan for his supreme sacrifice in defence of the country.
It may be recalled that Sepoy Muhammad Arshad Khan embraced martyrdom on April 7, 2012, on the icy front of Siachen in the Ghari Sector. Participants and local residents thanked the relevant authorities for naming the road after the martyr, describing the initiative as a beautiful tribute to the everlasting services and sacrifices of Pakistan’s martyrs.
