Monsoon Rains to Begin in Balochistan from July 1
Quetta: A new spell of monsoon rains is expected to begin across Balochistan on July 1 and continue until July 4. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued alerts for possible flash floods in streams and seasonal rivers, as well as landslides in mountainous areas, while directing local authorities to remain on high alert.
Districts Expected to Receive Heavy Rainfall
According to the PMD forecast:
- Zhob, Sherani, Kohlu, and Nasirabad: Rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms is expected.
- Harnai, Sibi, Barkhan, and Dera Bugti: Heavy rainfall is likely during the forecast period.
Safety Advisory
The Meteorological Department has urged residents to:
- Avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rainfall.
- Stay away from flood-prone streams, rivers, and low-lying areas.
- Follow instructions issued by local authorities and emergency services.
