Mitchell Santner Raises Concerns Over Payment, Makes Significant Claim

Mumbai: New Zealand all-rounder Mitchell Santner has made a significant claim regarding his compensation in the Indian Premier League (IPL), alleging that he was not paid the full amount agreed upon.

According to Santner, Mumbai Indians paid him only half of his contracted fee for participating in the tournament, while the remaining amount is still outstanding.

He explained that he missed the opening match of the competition due to the birth of his child. After returning, he played in a match against Delhi but suffered an injury during the game, which kept him sidelined for a week.

The Kiwi all-rounder said that he rejoined the team after recovering but was once again affected by injury and eventually had to return home. Initially, it was estimated that a full recovery would take eight weeks, but he managed to regain fitness in just four weeks.

Santner stated that various comments have been made about his quicker-than-expected recovery, even though he followed all medical advice throughout the rehabilitation process.

He further noted that under league regulations, an injured player is generally entitled to receive the amount agreed upon in the contract.
