Major Security Operation in Bannu: 16 Terrorists Killed, Including 2 Key Khawarij Commandants
Joint Pak Army, CTD, and Police Raid Eliminates Notorious Commanders Zimri Noor and Afghan Operative Abdullah Saeed; Two Police Constables Martyred
In a major counter-terrorism breakthrough, security forces, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), and the police successfully neutralized 16 terrorists, including two high-value Khawarij commanders, during a high-stakes joint operation in Bannu. Separately, two police personnel embraced martyrdom while valiantly fighting the terrorists.
Operations Breakdown and Elimination of Terrorist Leadership
According to official security sources, the intelligence-based operation was launched in the Meriyan area of Bannu following concrete reports regarding the presence of hardcore terrorists. As the joint team of the Pakistan Army, CTD, and local police cordoned off the area, the holed-up terrorists opened heavy fire.
During the intense, hours-long exchange of fire, 16 Khawarij terrorists were eliminated. Among the dead were Zimri Noor, a notorious commander responsible for orchestrating fear and target killings in the region, and Abdullah Saeed, a high-ranking Afghan Khawarij commander. Security forces also demolished several fortified terrorist hideouts during the clean-up mission.
Police Constables Martyred; Funeral Held with State Honors
During the fierce encounter, two dedicated police personnel—Constable Waheedullah Khan and Constable Noorullah Khan—laid down their lives in the line of duty.
"The funeral prayers of the martyred constables were offered at the Bannu Police Lines with full official and military honors," a security official confirmed. The ceremony was attended by top civil and military leadership, senior police officials, tribal elders, and hundreds of local citizens.
Security and defense sources reiterated that law enforcement agencies remain steadfast in their mission to eliminate Fitna-al-Khawarj. Operations will continue with unyielding intensity across the region until the last remnants of terrorism are completely rooted out.
