QUETTA: Security forces conducted a successful intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Nal area of Basima district, Balochistan, killing 14 terrorists affiliated with what the military described as “Fitna al-Hindustan.” During the intense exchange of fire, Lance Havildar Muhammad Abbas embraced martyrdom while bravely fighting the militants.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security agencies received intelligence on June 8 indicating that Indian-backed terrorists were present in the Nal area and planning attacks on a nearby police station and banks.
Acting swiftly on the information, security forces launched an intelligence-based operation and effectively blocked the movement of the militants. Following a fierce gun battle, 14 terrorists were killed while several others sustained injuries.
ISPR stated that four vehicles being used by the terrorists, along with improvised explosive devices (IEDs), were also destroyed during the operation.
During the firefight, Lance Havildar Muhammad Abbas displayed exceptional courage and sacrificed his life in defense of the country, attaining the rank of martyr.
The military’s media wing further confirmed that clearance and search operations are ongoing in the area to eliminate any remaining terrorists. Security forces and law enforcement agencies remain committed to continuing counterterrorism operations under the framework of Azm-e-Istehkam until terrorism is completely eradicated from the country.
