Major progress in Central Asian trade under NLC transit agreement as first consignment reaches Pakistan

Islamabad (Balochistan News Desk) Under a transit agreement, the first commercial consignment of National Logistics Cell’s partner company has reached Pakistan from Kyrgyzstan via China.

This development is being described as a significant milestone, achieved through the effective strategy of the National Logistics Cell and enhanced regional trade connectivity.

Due to NLC’s efforts, several countries in the region have started using Khunjerab Pass and Sost Port as reliable trade corridors.

Under the new route, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan will gain direct access to Karachi Port, positioning Pakistan as a fast, secure, and reliable trade route for Central Asian states.

Reports indicate that since 2024, NLC has been successfully transporting goods from Karachi to various cities in Kyrgyzstan under the modern TIR system.

Experts say the initiative has boosted regional trade connectivity, while the year-round operations of Sost Dry Port have further strengthened consistency and stability in trade with China and Central Asian countries.
