Concerns Raised by Ailani Tribe Over Distribution of Municipal Development Funds in Kohlu; Demand for Transparency

Kohlu: In District Kohlu, Balochistan, members of the Ailani tribe and local residents of Ward No. 1 have expressed serious concerns over the distribution of development funds and the municipal budget. They have demanded fair and transparent allocation of development resources across all wards.

According to local residents, transparency was allegedly ignored in the distribution of development funds by the Municipal Committee. They further claimed that certain ward representatives, in collaboration with the Chief Municipal Committee, were involved in an uneven allocation of funds, resulting in Ward No. 1 being deprived of its due share.

Claim of Only 2.1 Million Rupees for Ward No. 1 Schemes

Locals stated that approximately 10 million rupees were allocated for development schemes per ward, but their area reportedly received only 21 lakh rupees worth of development projects.

They further added that around 7 lakh rupees are spent on office expenses, leaving insufficient funds for meaningful development work in the area.

Demand for Transparency in Fund Utilization

Representatives of the Ailani tribe alleged that development resources are being used for the benefit of specific individuals rather than for public welfare. They demanded that development funds should be distributed equally and on a merit basis across all wards so that every area can benefit equally from public development schemes.

Call for Investigation and Public Disclosure

Local residents have urged the district administration and relevant authorities to make full details of the municipal budget, development schemes, and fund utilization public. They also called for a transparent investigation to clarify the facts.

They emphasized that transparency and accountability in the use of public funds are essential for restoring public trust and ensuring sustainable development.
