Khuzdar Incident: Fact-Finding Committee Formed Over Deaths of Asma Jattak’s Father and Family Members

Balochistan Home Department Issues Notification; Commissioner Kalat Appointed Committee Chairman

The Government of Balochistan has taken serious notice of the tragic incident involving the deaths of the father of Ms. Asma Jattak, a resident of Khuzdar district, and other individuals, and has formally constituted a fact-finding inquiry committee.

According to Babar Yousafzai, Assistant Home Department Balochistan, an official notification has been issued to ensure a transparent and impartial investigation into all aspects of the incident.

The Commissioner Kalat Division has been appointed chairman of the fact-finding committee, while the Deputy Commissioner Hub and Deputy Commissioner Awaran will serve as members. The SP Hub has been appointed as the committee’s Member Secretary.

Key Point: The Government of Balochistan has directed the committee to submit its final report within 15 days to ensure transparency and accountability.

Inclusion of Intelligence Agencies and Committee’s Powers

Babar Yousafzai said that security and intelligence institutions have also been included in the inquiry process to ensure a thorough investigation.

Inter-Agency Participation: Representatives of intelligence agencies and the Special Branch Police will be part of the fact-finding committee.

Access to Records: The committee will have the authority to obtain relevant records, documents and evidence from any concerned department whenever required.

Determining Negligence and Submission of Report Within 15 Days

The committee will conduct a detailed review of all facts, circumstances and possible motives surrounding the incident and determine whether any administrative or security negligence occurred.

According to Babar Yousafzai, the committee will identify those responsible on the basis of available evidence and submit its comprehensive report to the provincial government within 15 days.
