Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman is arriving in Quetta today for an impactful three-day official visit. The highlight of his visit will be a keynote address at the historic "Tahaffuz-e-Madaris and Rights of Balochistan Conference" scheduled for June 4 in Pishin.
According to JUI-F Central Spokesperson Muhammad Aslam Ghouri, the conference is poised to become a defining milestone in the ongoing struggle for religious freedom, the protection of Islamic seminaries (madaris), and the constitutional rights of the people of Balochistan.
High-Profile Leadership Converges in Quetta
Preparations for the massive public gathering have been finalized, with caravans of party workers from across the province converging on the venue. A high-powered delegation of central and provincial JUI-F leadership has already reached Quetta to oversee arrangements and participate in the proceedings. Notable arrivals include:
Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri (Central Secretary General)
Muhammad Aslam Ghouri (Central Spokesperson)
Engineer Zia-ur-Rehman
Allama Rashid Soomro
Maulana Salahuddin
Engineer Abdul Razzaq Abid Lakho
During his stay, Maulana Fazlur Rehman is slated to hold a series of high-level consultative meetings with senior party leadership, tribal elders, and key political figures to evaluate the regional security matrix and political landscape.
Condemning Government Crackdowns on Seminaries
Speaking via the party’s media cell, JUI-F leaders strongly condemned the provincial administration's current policies toward religious institutions. They emphasized that madaris have historically served as the frontline defenders of Pakistan's ideological boundaries while providing invaluable educational and welfare services.
"Religious institutions have consistently weathered external geopolitical pressures. The current discriminatory treatment meted out by the Balochistan government against these seminaries is utterly reprehensible and unacceptable," the JUI-F Media Cell stated.
Addressing Economic Grievances, Law & Order, and Inflation
Beyond religious advocacy, the JUI-F leadership linked the rising wave of regional unrest directly to the economic alienation of the local population. The party reiterated its unyielding stance that the people of Balochistan hold the primary constitutional right over their indigenous natural resources.
During the Pishin power show, Maulana Fazlur Rehman is expected to unveil the party's future strategic roadmap addressing the country's skyrocketing inflation, worsening law and order situation, and the systemic deprivation of provincial rights
