Rawalpindi — Security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in the Razmak area of North Waziristan and killed five militants associated with the Indian-backed group referred to as Fitna al-Khawarij. During the intense exchange of fire, Pakistan Army officer Major Hafiz Ehsan Elahi embraced martyrdom.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces launched the operation after receiving intelligence regarding the presence of militants in the area. Five militants were killed as a result of the forces’ effective and decisive action.
During the operation, 34-year-old Major Hafiz Ehsan Elahi, a resident of Mianwali district, led his troops from the front and fought with exceptional courage. He made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty and attained martyrdom.
According to ISPR:
“A large quantity of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered from the militants. They had been involved in several terrorist attacks against security forces, law-enforcement agencies, and innocent civilians.”
A sanitization operation is continuing to eliminate any other militants who may be present in the area.
ISPR stated that the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam, approved by the Federal Apex Committee of the National Action Plan, will continue with full determination to achieve the complete elimination of foreign-sponsored terrorism.
