GWADAR: Aidah Baloch, a native of Ormara in Gwadar district, has reportedly successfully defended her doctoral dissertation in Fisheries at the prestigious Ocean University of China, earning widespread recognition across Balochistan.


According to community organizations and social media platforms, her achievement has been warmly celebrated throughout the Makran region, with many describing her as an inspiration for young women seeking higher education and professional excellence.


Located in Qingdao, Shandong Province, the Ocean University of China is internationally recognized for its academic excellence in marine sciences, oceanography, aquaculture, and fisheries research.


Aidah Baloch’s doctoral research focused on demersal and biological fish species along the Balochistan coastline, examining fish stock health, the effects of overfishing, and sustainable fisheries management practices. Her work is expected to contribute to the long-term development and sustainability of Pakistan’s fisheries sector.


Her academic accomplishment has been hailed as a significant milestone not only for Gwadar and Makran but also for the wider province of Balochistan, highlighting the growing role of educated youth in research, innovation, and national development.
