The Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) has finalized an ambitious 10-year roadmap for the second phase of the Gwadar Master Plan (2025-35). The initiative involves the phased launch of mega development projects estimated at Rs280 billion, aimed at positioning Gwadar as a premier global economic hub.
A Vision for a Smart and Eco-Friendly Hub
Presided over by GDA Director General Moeenur Rehman Khan, the meeting reviewed the strategic framework to transform Gwadar into a modern, smart, and eco-friendly port city. The plan focuses on global competitiveness, ensuring that infrastructure meets international standards for trade and sustainability.
Strategic 10-Year Development Programme
Deputy Director (Town Planning) Abdul Razzaq briefed the committee on the preparation of a comprehensive PC-I for the development programme.
Approval Process: The programme will first be submitted to the Government of Balochistan, followed by a federal submission for final approval.
Fiscal Integration: The GDA expects the programme to be formally included in the 2026-27 Financial Year budget.
Core Objective: To integrate existing business plans and ongoing initiatives to ensure the full and effective execution of the Gwadar Smart Port City Master Plan.
