Green Pakistan Initiative Driving a New Agricultural Revolution

Islamabad — With the support of the Green Pakistan Initiative (GPI), uncultivated and barren land across Pakistan is being transformed into productive farmland through modern corporate farming. The initiative's land reform program has created new opportunities for private corporate groups to invest in agriculture and contribute to the revival of the rural economy.

As part of this effort, Techno Agri & Foods has officially launched a modern corporate farming project on 950 acres of land near Khushab and Mianwali, aiming to increase agricultural production and strengthen Pakistan's economy.

Modern Agricultural Technology and Central Pivot Irrigation

The pilot project utilizes advanced farming technologies instead of conventional methods to maximize productivity on previously barren land.

• Rhodes Grass Cultivation: A 260-acre block is being cultivated with Rhodes grass using state-of-the-art central pivot irrigation systems.
• Export Potential: The harvested Rhodes grass will be exported to international markets, generating valuable foreign exchange for Pakistan.

Expansion Plan to 5,000 Acres

Arslan Alawala, a representative of Techno Agri & Foods, said the project's objective is to convert Pakistan's barren land into productive agricultural areas capable of competing with leading agricultural nations.

• Future Expansion: Following the successful completion of the 950-acre pilot project, the company plans to expand operations to 5,000 acres and beyond.

Arslan Alawala added that the Green Pakistan Initiative has opened new avenues for corporate investment, which is expected to bring significant value addition to Pakistan's agriculture and rural economy in the coming years.
