Government and Hanna Urak Victims Reach Agreement, Sit-In Ends

Families accept CM Sarfraz Bugti’s assurances; jobs, compensation and free education announced

Quetta: The families affected by the Hanna Urak tragedy and the sit-in committee have formally announced an end to their protest following a personal request and firm assurances from Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti. After the successful negotiations, the chief minister stated that he had remained in continuous contact with the sit-in committee from the first day and was fully committed to protecting the rights of the people.

Special Government Package Announced for Affected Families

Speaking to the participants of the sit-in, Mir Sarfraz Bugti announced the immediate acceptance of all their legitimate demands.

Martyrs’ package and compensation: The heirs of those martyred in the tragedy will be provided with full financial compensation.

Employment and education: Members of the affected families will be given government jobs, while the government will bear all educational expenses of the martyrs’ children.

Administrative accountability: The chief minister said that if any mistake had been made by the government or administration, they would not hesitate to acknowledge it, adding that his doors would always remain open to the public.

Dual Guarantee from the Government and the Tribe

Mir Sarfraz Bugti assured the sit-in participants that the decisions had been taken at the highest level.

Chief minister’s key statement: “Whatever decisions have been made today, I am legally and morally bound to implement all these commitments both as the Chief Minister of Balochistan and as the Chief of Bugti. The relations between my elders and yours span generations, and I have always stood with my people.”

Resolve to Defeat Anti-State Conspiracies

The Balochistan chief minister described the sit-in committee members as patriotic and said they had prevented attempts to politicise the protest and had foiled an external conspiracy against the country and the province.

Adopting a firm tone, he made it clear that after the martyrdom of the country’s brave personnel, those elements attempting to malign the state under an organised conspiracy would now be dealt with an iron hand.
