Governor Balochistan Calls Special Provincial Assembly Budget Session on June 17
QUETTA: The Governor of Balochistan, exercising constitutional powers under the Constitution of Pakistan, has summoned an important session of the Provincial Assembly for Wednesday, June 17, 2026. The session is widely expected to include the presentation of the upcoming provincial budget.
According to an official notification issued by the Balochistan Assembly Secretariat, the session will begin at 4:00 PM at the Assembly Hall in Quetta.
Constitutional Authority and Legislative Agenda
The Governor has convened the session under Article 109(A) of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. This provision empowers the Governor to summon the Provincial Assembly at any time and place deemed appropriate.
The primary agenda of the session includes the presentation of the new fiscal budget, allocation of funds for development projects, and detailed deliberations on provincial revenue targets for approval.
Strict Security and Access Measures
Given the sensitivity and importance of the budget session, the Balochistan Assembly Secretariat has announced stringent security protocols and access restrictions.
- Restricted Entry: All entry points to the Assembly Hall will be strictly monitored. Only members of the Provincial Assembly, authorized staff, and accredited journalists will be allowed inside during the proceedings.
- Additional Security Deployment: Extra security personnel will be deployed around the Assembly premises to ensure law and order and maintain a peaceful environment during the session.
All lawmakers and government officials have been instructed to complete security clearance procedures in advance and arrive at the Assembly before the scheduled time.
