Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistan’s capital markets have received a significant boost as leading Chinese financial institutions and stock exchanges have expressed confidence in the country's economic future and announced plans to expand their long-term investments. A high-level delegation from China Financial Futures Exchange, Shanghai Stock Exchange, and Shenzhen Stock Exchange met with the Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) in Islamabad to discuss strengthening financial cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, both sides explored opportunities to enhance investment flows, introduce new financial products, and deepen market integration. China’s Central Depository Company and Pakistan’s National Clearing Company (NCCPL) agreed to increase their shareholding through additional investments. Discussions also focused on improving the core operations of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) through the Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) model.

Furthermore, the two sides reviewed proposals for launching Cross-Border Investment Funds, which would allow investors from Pakistan and China to access each other’s financial markets more easily. Chinese representatives expressed strong confidence in Pakistan’s economic growth prospects and the future of its capital markets. Analysts believe that these initiatives will create new opportunities for investment, innovation, and sustainable financial development.
