Zurich – The squads of all 48 teams for the FIFA World Cup 2026 have now been finalized, with a total of 1,248 players set to participate, making it the largest tournament in World Cup history.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup is being jointly hosted by United States, Mexico, and Canada. It is the first time that 48 teams will compete in the tournament.
The participating teams have been divided into 12 groups, with each group consisting of four teams. A total of 104 matches will be played during the event.
According to the statistics, 357 players have previously appeared in a FIFA World Cup, while 891 players will be participating in football’s biggest tournament for the first time.

This year, Cape Verde, Curaçao, Jordan, and Uzbekistan have successfully qualified for the World Cup for the first time.
The youngest player in the tournament is 17 years old, while the oldest is 43. The event will feature seven players aged over 40 and 22 young footballers under the age of 20.
