Field Marshal Asim Munir Visits POF Wah, Reviews Advanced Defence Capabilities and Organizational Reforms
Wah Cantt — August 29, 2026: Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces (COAS & CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) Wah, the country’s largest defence industrial complex.
The visit focused on reviewing POF’s production capabilities, export potential and ongoing efforts to strengthen self-reliance in Pakistan’s defence industry.
Field Trials and Briefing on Locally Manufactured Weapons
Field Marshal Asim Munir was briefed on POF’s overall performance and its capabilities for locally manufacturing defence equipment.
During the visit, he observed field tests and practical trials of modern weapons and ammunition produced domestically, highlighting Pakistan’s progress in defence production, technological innovation and technical expertise.
DIPRA Reforms and Industrial Expansion
The Field Marshal was also briefed on the progress of POF’s corporatization and ongoing expansion projects.

- DIPRA reforms: Following implementation of the DIPRA Ordinance, POF is being aligned with modern requirements and transitioned toward a corporate model.
- New industrial plants: Two new plants are being established to increase production capacity and meet domestic requirements. They are expected to become fully operational by the end of the year.
