Islamabad — The Fact Check Wing of Pakistan’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has officially rejected what it described as fabricated and misleading claims by Indian media regarding the reconstruction of the Subhan Allah Mosque in Bahawalpur. According to the fact-check, a report published by The Times of India claiming that the Government of Pakistan had allocated Rs25 crore for the mosque’s reconstruction is completely baseless and contrary to the facts.

An Attempt to Conceal Embarrassment and Political Patronage

According to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting’s Fact Check Wing, sections of the Indian media are continuing to promote what it described as fabricated narratives in an attempt to divert attention from the fallout of recent developments.

Attempt to Cover Up Defeat: The fact-check stated that Indian media outlets have continued to circulate fabricated stories following Pakistan’s response during the so-called “Marka-e-Haq,” allegedly to deflect international criticism.

Attacks on Civilians: The fact-check further alleged that during the so-called “Operation Sindoor,” Indian forces carried out attacks that affected civilians, including elderly people, children and women.

Bollywood-Style Propaganda and the Sindoor Documentary

The Ministry of Information criticized what it described as India’s propaganda machinery, alleging that dramatic presentation and sensationalism were being used to shape public perception.

Drama in the Name of a Documentary: According to the ministry, the recent “Sindoor documentary” relies more on dramatic presentation and sensationalism than on solid evidence and ground realities.

Repeated Changes in Narrative: The ministry alleged that following setbacks on the ground, Indian authorities and media outlets have repeatedly altered their narratives in an attempt to influence public opinion.

Call for an End to Disinformation

Pakistani authorities stated that the Times of India report and the Sindoor documentary form part of what they described as a broader disinformation campaign aimed at diverting attention from events on the ground.
