Failed Attack on Karachi Rangers Camp; Three Militants Killed, One Arrested

Rawalpindi: According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistan's security forces foiled another major militant plot in Karachi. Militants affiliated with Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, described by the military as an Indian proxy group, launched an attack on a Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) camp. Alert Rangers personnel responded immediately, successfully repelling the assault.

The attackers first detonated an explosive at the camp's main gate before attempting to breach the security perimeter. However, the swift response by security personnel resulted in the following:

• Three militants killed: Three attackers were killed on the spot during the exchange of fire.
• One Afghan suspect arrested: One injured attacker was captured alive and was identified as an Afghan national.
• Rangers' casualties: Three Rangers personnel embraced martyrdom during the fierce exchange of fire, while four others sustained injuries.

Clearance Operations Continue Under Operation Azm-e-Istehkam

Immediately after the attack, law enforcement agencies and the Pakistan Army jointly cordoned off the area. Search and clearance operations are continuing to eliminate any remaining militants or their facilitators.

The Chief of Army Staff and the Chief of Defence Forces expressed heartfelt condolences and solidarity with the families of the fallen personnel. They stated that these sacrifices further strengthen the nation's unwavering resolve to eliminate terrorism and safeguard Pakistan.
