Facilitator of Banned Militant Groups Sentenced to 14 Years in Prison

Turbat: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Turbat has sentenced Sajid Ahmed, an alleged facilitator of banned militant organizations, to 14 years in prison after finding him guilty of supporting terrorist activities. Security forces had arrested the suspect in Panjgur during an intelligence-based operation and reportedly recovered a significant quantity of weapons and explosive materials.

During the trial, the prosecution presented evidence that led the court to convict the accused. In addition to the 14-year sentence for facilitating militant activities, the court also awarded an additional seven-year prison term under the Balochistan Arms Act.

According to investigation reports presented before the court, the accused allegedly used student networks to encourage recruitment into banned organizations. Investigators further claimed that he had been assigned the task of preparing a vehicle for a planned suicide attack. The report also stated that evidence of contacts with foreign-backed networks and external proxies was included in the case record.

Legal experts say the verdict highlights the importance of counterterrorism efforts and demonstrates the state's commitment to taking action against individuals accused of supporting militant networks and extremist activities.
