Dhana Sar Bus Tragedy: Death Toll Rises to 40 as Investigation Begins

Quetta — The death toll from the tragic bus accident in the Dhana Sar area of Balochistan has risen to 40, according to Shahid Rind, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Balochistan for Media. He said eight others were seriously injured and have been shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Following directives from the Chief Minister of Balochistan, provincial authorities have contacted officials in the affected districts and ordered the immediate acceleration of rescue and relief efforts.

Officials said preliminary findings indicate that the bus was carrying more passengers than its approved capacity. Shahid Rind revealed that passengers from another bus that had broken down en route were also transferred to the same vehicle, contributing to the overcrowding.
